Literally nothing you do is going to be good enough for everyone. Someone somewhere will find an issue. This reality is simultaneously so freaking frustrating and dehumanizing but it also can be wildly freeing.
And it’s okay if sometimes you feel defeated by this and sometimes you feel empowered by this. Or both. Or neither.
Perfectionism, comparing ourselves, hyper-achievement, people pleasing aren’t going anywhere anytime soon unfortunately, as they are baked into and reinforced by the systems of our society.
Which means we’re still going to experience them in some way no matter how much “healing” we do.
It’s not that you didn’t “fix” yourself well enough… it’s that we live in a society that constantly has ways of trying to make us feel inferior.
